MaryAnne Terry(She/Her), BA, MACP, RP, C.C.C.

Life can be difficult, complicated and often quite overwhelming.  Getting help along the way is a courageous way

to care for and support yourself as you navigate today toward better tomorrows.  Taking the time to create a

healthy mindset and personalized coping strategies has never been more important so, even in the midst of life’s

challenges, you can pursue an empowered way forward to better mental, emotional, relational and spiritual well-

being.

I have a collaborative and conversational approach to discovering and understanding who you are and what

governs your sense of self and worth. The therapeutic relationship is important and protected, as I believe we

experience life in terms of relationships. We live, learn and gather our strengths as well as our hurts and scars in

relationships. It is my aim to help you embrace healing and growth in improved relationships with your authentic

self and through that all other relationships.

Although I practice in quite an eclectic manner and let the client dictate what approach works best for them, I tend

to use Psychodynamics and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as my foundational frame, and then borrow

liberally from Emotional Focus Therapy, and anything else that beneficially resonates with the individual client(s).

There may be ‘homework’ or ‘thought-work’ in between sessions, as time, intention and practice are helpful in

building and personalizing new skills for your unique life.  Therapy is a dynamic and flexible process, with your

concerns guiding the process.  My purpose is to encourage you to become the best therapist for you and thrive

forward with hope and purpose.

I hold a BA and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, I am a Registered Psychotherapist (R.P.) with the College of

Registered Psychotherapists, and a member of highest standing (C.C.C. designation) with the Canadian Counselling

and Psychotherapy Association.  I am also a Certified Life Coach with a previous degree in Business Administration,

and have worked in businesses, schools and religious environments. I enjoy working with diverse populations and

age groups and responding to wide variety of client concerns.
